Cavern of Earth part 2

Now it is time to check the final hallway. They take care of a minaraur along the way. At the end of the corridore, they find a stairs.they procede down. Our heroes find themselves in another series of corridores. They follow it around til they come to a fork. Which way/ Why left of course. A little ways in there is another hallway to the left. They take it. Which leads them to a room. They check. Nothing. They go inside and find three chests. They check the first two and find a leather sheild and 575 gil. Now when they procede to the last chest and got within five feet of it a trap went off. The trap summoned a large earth elemental. They made as quick work of it as anyone can in such confind space. They got 5000 gil from the chest for defeating it. The heroes follow the path around til they come to another set of stairs. But since they haven’t finished checking this floor, they did not procede down. By sticking to the left they make it to another room. They check the door. Nothing. Inside are another three chests. From right to left they open them. The first contained 330 gil. The second contained Traveler’s Tent. The last one. Just like before they get within five feet and two large earth elementals is summoned. But now they know how to deal with them. When they finish they open the chest and recieve a Coral Sword. They finished checking out the rest of the level, nothing except a few wandering hyenadons. Which look just like normal hyenas except stronger.

Cavern of Earth part 1

Our party has heard enough. After a good nice sleep in a bed that does not rock with the wave they are ready for there journey. They head south for that is where the cavern is. After a few days and many attacks by shadows, ghouls, and ghast they arrive at their destination. They went down into the cave there were five corridors to take, but which one. They decided to start at the north one and work counter clockwise. So they traveled north. The hall looped around to a small cavern with a single room.they found a door that faced south checked it and found nothing. They opened the door and saw a chest and were attacked by gargoyles. They dispacth them as best they could with a little healing, while one of they searches for traps. They supposedly find 1975 gil. For some reason the wixard is always looking for false bottoms in the chests. Maybe he does’t trust the people that palce them there or his dwarf side is showing. They check out the next hall on their list. but before they get to far one of the heores find a warning saying that there are giants ahead and not to go down the passageway. They agreed and proceded to the next hall. Same warning. however being greed little people they check it out. For they cannot pass up the chance or it might be as they say that hey do not want to leave any thung behind them. “DEE DE DEE.” is what I say. They get to the hall of giants and notice big huge hole in the sides of the wall before they are attacked. See what did I tell you. after they defeated the giants for there were two of them with some type of lizard. They went back out. Not saying outloud what they were thinking, but we all know that if the same guy leads them into something like that again they will leave him there. The next hall is a dead end. As they travel the one after they are attacked by minataurs. Which they defeat easier than the giants. They procede on and take the left fork which arises. they Check a small passage, nothing. They continue down till they reach a small cavern with a single room. They do their ruotine and hear scuffling inside. They prepare and go inside and demolish the mummies. the check the two chests. No traps. They find potion and 800 gil. Our heroes then go to the other fork which leads to another small caven with a small room. There they fight off wraith and wights to get at the chests. They check them and find antidote and 795 gil.

The Dying Earth

In ages past the town Melmond was knonw as the seat of learning, a city of peaceful traders and beautiful gardens on the western border of civilization. But when light was drained from the four crystals, Melmond suffered greatly, perhaps more than any other town. The rich soil underfoot turn to clay. The plants died. People moved away to seek a living in more hospitable lands. Some of the braver citizens sought the source of rot, wandering further afield until they reached the black mouth of a cavern far south of Melmond. There they heard the coming of Lich, the feind of the earth, but none return to tell the tale. For an age the Lich had remained buried in the cool bosom of the earth, waiting for his time of ascendance. When light drained from the crystals, Lich sense it and he stired. Creeping from his dark hole, the foul breath of his passing turned all it touch into poison. The rot spread across the land like a brush fire. It was the begining of the end and the Lich rejoiced.

After some drinks and a rest they head back to there ship and take off. They sail down the coast and find a new canal. Well the sailors find a new canal, we already know about it. they sail thruogh and spot a small island up ahead. They steer around it and spot land, other than that of the island, as they get closer there is a dock and a town around fifteen minutes walk. When they get to town they see that al the townspeople are down trottened. And find out the they are being plagued by vampires. Not only that, the earth is dying for as they look upon the ground they see that the land is just rotting away. The group once again speads out to ind some information. They find that the temple has been destroyed by the vampires. There is talk of a sage, but that it is impoosible to reach him for passage through the mountain is guarded by a titan, who likes to eat gems and anything else that moves, but that gems are his favorite. The people cannot grow anything for the rotten ground. For once their land was the most fertile in the land but then the feinds came and currupted the crystals of power. They learn that earth crystal is located in the earthen cave in the south. They find that fifth level spells can be bought here and that there is no item shop here. Therre are some exception to who you can sell certain spells to as well. Most of the armor that can be bought here is not worth it except for the silver armlet. In the northen outskirts of town they meet a Dr. Unne. He is looking for a book that will help him to figure out a tablet that discibes where the land of the ancients are.

Nerrick's Project

After the big treasure they looked outside the room. they found Nerrick, the engineer. who was near a state of panic that a dwarf can get. For he wants to finish his project and can’t for over hear the rocks to hard. He asked the group for either TNT or nitro powder. They give it to him. He thanks them and excuses himself to finish the project. They follow him in deeper. They see him place the powder into a hole and lite a fast wick that leads to it. He turns, notice them and shouts RUN as he skirts on by them to the side passage of the previous cavern. With a earth shattering kaboom, they feel the ground shake. The blue quartz’s crystal that they use for the spell map, feels warm in the white mage’s pocket. He takes it out, to find it glowing. Without him even casting the spell it goes off and shows the world. Then it zooms in on a spot and shows the thinnest piece of land connecting the northern part to the southern part start to collapse. Sending huge waves off to the distance. The spell then shuts off. “Well now I can get started on my next project.” says Nerrick, who was standing right beside them.

Speaking of green wolves, it turns out that the green wolves came about by some wizard long ago. He was trying to a bigger wolf that was more loyal, like a dog. Unfortunaltly, the wolf got out smash into the table of chemicals and it got all over the wolf. To hear the wolf tell it is something different. Where was I, Oh yes. Our heroes heard where the dwarves were located by way of the dancer. See she did come in handy. They traveled west via ship found a dock and left. While traveling here they encountered some lesser tigers, wolves, wargs, and a few ogres. After about a day and a half of travel, one of them in the group, possibly the fighter, spotted a cave in the mountains. They headed that way making it there by next night. When they go inside they find a small group of dwarfs. When they get into the cavern they spot a room to the north and south. They spread out to gather info for they do see some dwarfs going about. The fighter finds out that the Blacksmith has run out adamantite for he plans to make the light warriors a great sword. They also can get the treasure that was held for them. Such as the room to the north which is locked by the mystic key. In there they found two chest. Each filled with gil. One chest contained 450 gil, the other contained 575 gil. Now they head further in to an even bigger part. They find a room which is locked by the mystic key. They open the door two reveal a vast treasure room. For this room is three times bigger than that of the humans treasure rooms as well as the elves. In here they find: A Traveler’s Tent, a great helm, wyrmkiller, Ether, Potion, Mythril Mail, a Traveler’s Cottage, 575 gil.

More Treasure

They now head off to the western keep where they defeated Astos. Once there they open up that treasury and find: falchion, a power staff and a set of steel gloves (NO THAT DAMN WELL IS NOT ALL! But like I said they won’t tell me). They then proceed to the marsh cave to pick up what they could not before. In the four locked rooms they find a silver armlet, antidote, and 1020 gil. Not to mention a place to train. For one room was empty but had a summoning trap that reset after each use. The silver armlet also had a summoning trap as well, but as you can see they survived. Now they travel to Coneria. Once there they raid there treasury and of course, the fighter reacquaints himself with that street dancer, heh heh. Anyways like before they can only touch what was put aside for them in the two rooms. So they get a suit of armor, a traveler’s tent, Nitro powder?? and Traveler’s Cottage , saber, and a mythril dagger(yes plus other stuff quit bothering). Now they travel to the Chaos Shrine. When there they Go to the Southeast room. Open it up to a treasure chest. They get a rune blade. They proceed north to do the same. there they get the werebuster sword. No, they did have encounters along the way. I mean come on up hear they never got rid of that many undead which they can do now. At the marsh cave they had to deal with a new supply of zombies that went in while they were gone. Not to mention the green wolfs and ogres and other stuff along the way. So yes they did face stuff. Stop thinking so little of them.

The Run Around

The party heads to the ship and take off towards Matoya’s cave. The conversation deals with what happened while they were away. With a few attacks by the sahagin, red sahagin, and big eyes, the trip was uneventful.they dock at the old peer that they spotted the last time they came this way. And journeyed north. They reach Matoya’s cave, Who thanks them profusely. Having heard that the prince was under a certain spell, she whips up a jolt tonic. Then sends them on there way. They travel back to Elfheim, and straight to the prince they go. The nurse/butler is most relived to see them. They let the “nurse” do the pouring. The response is almost immediate. With the fluttering of eyes the prince awakens. When he sees them he says” You must be the light warriors. Here you may have this key. Thank you.” He hands over the mystic key. Now they can open all those lock doors. They head towards the treasury. They open the door and see a mound of treasure. to bad they all that they are allowed is in four chest off to the side. They open them and receive a total of 1500 gil, a mythril hammer,a bronze gauntlet and some other stuff. I’m not allowed to say, for they won’t tell me.

After our heroes have rested they travel north. Taking there time so that they can think up a plan as to how to defeat Astos. When they final reach the north west castle they go to give the crown back to the old man. When they enter the room, the old man spots the the crown. “HA, HA, HA. I am Astos king of the dark elves. I have Matoya’s crystal, and you shall give me that crown, NOW!!” The response was “Fat chance!” With the unleash of a flame strike and few well place hits, and a bless, repeated a couple of times. The battle was over. After the battle, which lasted only minutes, but seem to last hours. They search his body(ewww), they now have the crystal. Now it is of to Matoya’s cave, by way of Elfheim. When they reach Elfheim, they go in to replenish there supplies. While there one of them goes to check to see how everyone is coming along with the bow. He hands one kid a short bow for he is not tall enough for a longbow. Everyone else is doing fine with it.

The Marsh Cave Part 3

So our band of travelers went to the last place that they saw the stunod. They crept forward to be ever so mindful as to not get attack by surprise. Check the door, nothing, spotted the other one and went through. The intrepid heroes went down the stair into a huge cavern. For to their eyes this cavern is twice as big as the last one and filled with more rooms to check. They head toward the first room. check it and find that it is not locked. They open the door and face of against more skeletons and zombies. They check the only chest, it does have the same word in a different spot. They look inside and it is a phoenix down. They check the next two rooms and found nothing (to there left, if you could not guess). On there fourth room they came upon some ghouls and a treasure chest. They dispatch them quick enough and check the chest. No rune or others stuff. Open to find 295 gil. They then proceeded back by the next set of rooms. On the third room, they fought shadows and then they check the two treasure chest one was empty the other had a traveler’s cottage. Of course, most of these chest have more in them, but I can’t reveal them because of tax purposes. The next room they checked they could not hear any thing, but that is nothing new. They went in and were attacked by gargoyles ( aren’t they suppose to be on top of buildings?). With some scrapes they managed to come out of it. After healing themselves they checked the chest, a copper armlet. When they get to the next set they run into the barbarian. After berating him, he joined them again. He tells them about the rest of the cavern and what he thinks is in there. They skip the next one over because that is where they think the crown is. They checked the next two rooms and fought some zombies and red bones, and more gargoyles. The fighter was unlucky enough to get bitten by one of the zombies. and caught a disease. Which will not show up for a few days. They found 385 gil in the chest and the chest in the other room was empty. On there way back they check the bottom row only to find that he rooms were locked. Now on to the last room. They prepared check the door and headed in. In the room they found statues surrounding a chest, but allowing them to access the chest. Being careful they proceeded forward. When they got to within five feet of the chest a few piscodemons appeared. After all they fought they made some quick work of the demons and check the chest, and there is the crown. Now to get out of here. They made there where out having taken care of most the stuff on there way down.
